Job Description :The BI-SA will be knowledgeable in data warehouse design, extract-transform-load (ETL) processes, dimensional modeling, and business intelligence tool sets. Experience in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 technologies and Cognos Business Intelligence 10.x is required.
Must Have Primary Skills :
- Working with the Data Architect to ensure that data structure(s) defined and implemented within the project is aligned with the overall information architecture.
- Working with the Technical Architect to ensure that the solution defined and implemented within the project is aligned with the overall technical architecture.
Nice To Have Secondary Skills :
- Working with the Application Architect to ensure that the solution defined and implemented within the project is aligned with the overall application architecture.
- Design of the BI business solution to support the business needs:-
- standards and guidelines,
- semantic model and physical data structures,
- ETL processes and business transformation rules, reports, dashboards, Cognos application configuration, data and report navigation, etc.
- data access hierarchies,- security access model
Proven Experience In :
- Design and Develop data warehouse (including relational and multi-dimensional data structures)
- Supporting the BI ETL Developer and BI Designer through specific skills and experiences with BI toolsets
- Educating business users on the capabilities (and limitations) of data warehousing
- Educating business users on the capabilities (and limitations) of the BI end-user tools
- Interfacing with process teams regarding business process reengineering and fit of BI to support the reengineering efforts
