Job Description :Our Edmonton based client is looking for Sr. Project Manager - IMT, who is responsible for all information and technology initiatives, delivering project plans, monitoring project resources, monitoring project progress and providing leadership to team members.

Must Have Primary Skills :
  • Minimum  University graduation in a related discipline and 6 years Project Manager (PM) experience
OR two-year diploma in a related discipline and 7 years PM experience
OR a one-year certificate in a related discipline and 8 years PM experience
OR a currently active professional certification or accreditation in a related discipline and 9 years PM experience
  • Minimum 6 years demonstrated leadership experience within an IT environment
  • Minimum 6 years experience in a project management role in an environment of similar size and complexity to the Government of Alberta
  • Minimum 6 years experience working as a Project Manager in a large complex custom software application development environment
  • Minimum 6 years experience leading a portfolio of projects or initiatives at one time
  • Minimum 6 years experience leading complex (multi-stakeholder and multi-technology) projects
  • Minimum 6 years experience managing multiple resources and/or delivery teams
  • Minimum 6 years experience creating and managing project forecasts
  • Minimum 6 years experience defining project scope, goals and deliverables that support project goals in collaboration with business stakeholders
  • Minimum 6 years experience writing proposals, briefings, business plans, work statements and strategy documents in support of business goals
  • Minimum 6 years experience developing project documents including: governance, project charters, business cases, briefing notes and status reporting, risk logs and project closures
  • Minimum 3 years experience managing team with an Agile methodology to deliver business applications and solutions


Nice To Have Secondary Skills :
  • Minimum 4 years experience in the project coordination of information management / information technology initiatives within the government involving third party vendors
  • Minimum 6 years experience with project life cycle methodologies
  • Minimum 6 years experience leading and facilitating meetings with stakeholders at all levels
  • Minimum 5 years experience leading change management and communication planning
  • Minimum 5 years experience developing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships across the organization, including executive level
  • Advanced communication and negotiation skills
