Job Description :Our Toronto-based client is looking for a Data Analyst to join their team for a 6-month contract opportunity.

Must Have Primary Skills :

• At least 7 years of hands on experience in data analysis, establishing data lineage, creating data models and reporting views
• Experience in gathering, analyzing the business requirements and creating Business Requirement Document BRD , Technical Specification Document
• Experience in Complex BI solution design (e.g. dimensional modeling for canned reports development, sandbox and data analytics)
• Knowledge of Hadoop and other Big Data frameworks 
• Well versed in Kimball/Inmon data warehouse Philosophies.
• Experienced in Normalization/De-normalization techniques for optimum performance in OLTP and OLAP environments
• Experience in data cleansing, data transformation, data mapping from source to target database/semantic/reporting layer.
• Ability to work independently and handle uncertainty 
• Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics
• Expert in Dimensional Data Modeling

Nice To Have Secondary Skills :

• Exposure to Big Data technologies is a plus
• Experience working in projects where reports were built using Tableau and/or Power BI
• Domain Knowledge Knowledge of financial, operational risk analysis and reporting
