Job Description :Our Regina-based client is looking for a Database Administrator for a year’s contract in a remote capacity

Must Have Primary Skills :

• Strong understanding of Oracle/SQL/Postgres support in a similar capacity for at least 4-5 years
• Ability to monitor the database on a regular basis, and provide any support necessary
• Must be able to perform any performance checks/tuning on demand if deemed necessary.
• Handle the user administration, make sure the access is granted smoothly for the different users.
• Proficient in carrying out service requests, and any troubleshooting support if any access is locked due to an error in accessing the system.
• Experienced in managing the system, and setting up any alerts if necessary.
• Knowledgeable in Release Deployments (DDUs/Deployments)
• Able to handle Standard Change Deployment (Index Maintenance/Redo log movement/User Profiling)
• Can perform backups, log movement within the system, addition of extra space needed by the users to store their data.
• A problem solver, and quick to recover lost data if necessary.
• Knowledge Management
• SIP planning and implementation
• Experience working on AWS RDS (Oracle, Postgres, Aurora) and its services of EC2 & S3
