Job Description :Our Edmonton-based client is looking for a Network Engineer to join their team for a full time, permanent role.

Must Have Primary Skills :

• Related post-secondary education – Degree or Diploma in network related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of experience in highly available network environments with a demonstrated record of increased responsibility
• Ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope out technical requirements and prioritize
• Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation and standardization
• Hands-on experience with switching, routing, firewalls, load balancers, wireless networks, VPN, and other fundamental networking concepts
• Experience with eliminating business disruptions as part of planned maintenance activities
• Must be able to immediately hit the ground running 

Nice To Have Secondary Skills :

• ITIL framework experience is a plus
• Cisco, PaloAlto, and SDWAN experience is a plus

Proven Experience In :

• Monitor the performance and delivery of network services
• Oversee and participate in the maintenance of network infrastructure
• Assist in developing change management, regular maintenance, documentation, and problem management processes
• Operate within a proactive network operations center system
• Maintain accurate information of all network Infrastructure components
• Lead and support execution of quarterly deliverables
• Recommend technology and network solutions that can be integrated and deployed in the environment
• Provide input and insight into network availability, capacity & performance, and disaster recovery
• Maintain positive working relationships with multiple vendors, technology providers and internal clients
• Work with IT Managers to provide relevant business reporting and context of the network environment
• Interface with IT Project delivery team to onboard new technologies into the operating environment
• Interface with IT acquisition teams to onboard new locations into the operating environment
