Job Description :Our client in Alberta is urgently looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Developer.

Must Have Primary Skills :

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Software Engineering)
• 3 + years of professional experience in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines. Azure Databricks experience preferred.
• 3 + years of designing, developing and deploying business intelligence solutions using Power BI Desktop, Power BI Report Builder, preferably in a Power BI Pro and Premium capacity.
• Experience with Cloud Platform services such as Azure
• Experience working with DevOps pipelines continuous integration/delivery, and automated testing (unit, functional, performance)
• Experience working in cross-functional Agile Scrum teams
• Expert coding skills in Python, SQL and knowledge of software engineering principles around testing, code reviews, and deployment
• Demonstrated experience using Databricks, Pyspark and python

Nice To Have Secondary Skills :

• Experience in dimensional data modeling and Data transformation technologies such as dbt will be an asset.
• Experience with cloud migrations, specifically from on-prem SQL databases and datamarts to Azure Databricks.

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include providing support services such as root-cause identification, debugging, training, and consultation for any business intelligence or reporting-related concerns. Additionally, your role will involve developing data pipelines to extract, load, and transform data from various sources into cloud-based data warehouses and data lakes, and developing end-user reporting solutions including Power BI Dashboards, Reports, and Paginated Reports. Collaborating with developers, data architects, and data engineers, you will design and implement scalable and reliable data products on cloud platforms.

You will troubleshoot issues and optimize query performance. You will also work closely with business analysts to understand their requirements and design models that enable effective reporting and analysis.

• Develop data pipelines to extract, load, and transform data from various sources into cloud-based data warehouses and data lakes. • Design and implement data processing workflows that are highly optimized for their cloud-native environment. 
• Collaborate with developers, data architects, and business analysts to design and implement scalable and reliable data products on cloud platforms. 
• Translate business requirements into end-user ready products like Power BI Dashboards, Reports, and Paginated Reports. 
• Assist with monitoring and maintaining the performance of cloud-based data warehouses and data pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and optimize query performance
