Job Description :Our client is looking for a  Senior Engineering Manager ( Remote Across Canada)

Must Have Primary Skills :
  • Proficient in AWS (IAM, EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, etc.). Solid understanding of SaaS architecture (multi-tenancy, high availability, uptime strategies).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation). Strong background in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, monitoring/logging tools, and observability practices.
  • Modern API design knowledge (REST, GraphQL, API Gateway).
  • Focused on secure development practices (authentication, authorization, IAM policies).
  • Understanding of compliance standards (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA is a plus).
  • FinOps or cloud cost optimization experience is an asset.
  

Nice To Have Secondary Skills :
  • Proven leadership experience in cloud-native SaaS environments.
  • Strong track record of building, scaling, and mentoring engineering teams. Experience leading distributed teams across time zones.
  • Expertise in Agile methodologies and modern software development practices.
  • Strong collaboration skills across Product, HR, and Business Ops.
  • Business-savvy with experience managing budgets and aligning technical execution with company goals.
  • Excellent communicator and decision-maker.



Proven Experience In :

Lead and structure distributed engineering teams to align with business goals. Directly manage Engineering Managers, Team Leads, and QA Leads; hold regular 1:1s and skip-levels. Drive performance management, coaching, development planning, and compensation decisions. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality, scalable features aligned with product priorities. Foster psychological safety, diversity, and a culture of learning and ownership. Collaborate with Product to align roadmaps and execute strategically. Own engineering roadmap planning and contribute to team-level PI goals. Define and track key engineering KPIs (e.g., velocity, quality, DORA metrics, eNPS). Support recruitment strategies and lead hiring initiatives with HR. Manage engineering budgets and optimize SaaS infrastructure costs. Champion engineering best practices and technical excellence across the SDLC. Lead innovation and cross-team technical initiatives. Ensure adherence to compliance and data privacy standards (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR).
